Pascal Bréant is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers (Engineering School) in Paris and of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Pétrole et des Moteurs (French Institute of Petroleum) in Rueil Malmaison, France. He joined Total in 1995 and held various drilling operations and engineering positions in Exploration & Production, including in Indonesia and the United Kingdom. Until 2009, he held leadership roles in Total’s Finance Division, as Investor Relations Manager and as Corporate Finance Manager for Exploration & Production subsidiaries in the Middle East, in particular United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Yemen. From 2009 to 2012, he was Vice President, Venezuela, for Total’s Exploration & Production Americas Division. In 2012 he was appointed Vice President Oil Sands Assets, Total E&P Canada.
On May 1st 2016 was appointed as the Managing Director, Total E&P Kazakhstan and Total’s Country Chair in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In September 2019, Pascal Breant was appointed Vice President New Ventures for the MENA region based in Paris. He then moved to Tripoli as TotalEnergies’s Country Chair and Managing Director in Libya July from 2020.
He was appointed Country Chair and Managing Director in Cyprus as well as Managing Director of TotalEnergies E&P in Egypt early 2024.
