After several years of preparation activities, the first operational Underwater Drone (Saipem’s Hydrone-R) hit the water in mid-June 2023, for the long-awaited commencement of the Njord operations offshore Norway. This presentation will discuss the main benefits of the underwater drone technology, supported by results and lessons learnt from operational experience on projects offshore Norway and Brazil.
